Patti Smith en Granada


Anoche actuó Patti Smith en la Huerta de San Vicente, Casa-Museo de Federico García Lorca.
Cantó, habló con nosotros y recitó fragmentos de Poeta en Nueva York.
Nunca sospeché que los poemas de Lorca tuvieran tanta fuerza en su traducción al inglés:
‘You who saw the torrents of roses of yesteryear, / the troops of warriors whose flags flew high, / the marble minarets and silk turbans, / the musical beehives amongst the poplars / and the pools like sphinxes touching the sky’. En la voz de Patti Smith, tan especial y poderosa bajo el balcón siempre abierto de la habitación de Lorca, entendí que por qué les gusta tanto.
Tampoco sospechaba que Patti fuera una mujer tan simpática y tan divertida.
